Giving Tuesday, December 3, 2024 – Matching Campaign!

This Giving Tuesday, we are excited to announce that all donations will be matched one-for-one up to a total of $90,000. A small group of generous donors has offered this wonderful match, and we need your help to reach our goal.

The Dancing Cat's income, like that of many small organizations, has been greatly impacted by these challenging times. We trust you value the work we do to rescue adult cats and find them wonderful homes. The Dancing Cat cannot continue to be successful without your continued generous support. 

We appeal to you to help us with our veterinary and operating costs. So far in 2024, we have spent nearly $200,000 on veterinary costs, on top of our operating costs of $8000 for cat supplies and $40,000 for cat food.

Over 80% percent of The Dancing Cat’s income in the past two years has come from individual donations and corporate matching. We are so fortunate to have the support of your generosity. Without you we could not have saved the hundreds of cats and kittens that we rescued this year. We know the basic cost of living crisis is also affecting the millions of pets in the U.S. shelter system. Times may feel tough, but when you give any amount, you are giving so much more than money. Your act of kindness is not just matched dollar-for-dollar, it multiplies into immeasurable good deeds. You give hope to a cat so terrified in a shelter cage they won’t eat. You give courage to a cat who has been abused but still wants to trust. You give love to every guest who visits the adoption lounge carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders, only to replace it with a curious, climbing kitty. We have celebrated over 1,600 adoptions in the nine years since we opened our doors, and we know we have a lot more work ahead of us.

The Dancing Cat also needs supplies of cat food and cat toys.  Some supplies we keep on-site, and others are shared with community members in need.  For specific items needed, please click our wish list buttons above. To drop off donations of cat food, please stop by The Dancing Cat during our regular hours.
